The basics
What is Quini? +
Quini is an app for running football pools with your friends. You create a pool, invite your group, and everyone makes their picks. The app scores every match automatically from official league results.
How much does it cost? +
Private pools are free for up to 5 players. PRO upgrades (one-time payment per pool) unlock more players and pro features. Public pools are entered with tokens.
Which competitions are supported? +
The biggest in the world: the World Cup, Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Champions League, MLS, Brasileirão, Liga MX and more. PRO pools can mix several leagues in one.
Do I need to install the app? +
No. You can play in your browser at app.playquini.com — same account, same pools. The app adds push notifications and a faster way in.
Accounts
Do I need an account? +
Yes, with your email. It lets you log in from any device and keep your pools if you change phones.
What can other players see about me? +
Only your name and profile photo (if you set one). Your email, purchase history and personal data are never visible to anyone else.
How do I delete my account? +
Email us at hola@quinielero.mx with the subject "Account deletion request" from the address you registered with. Full details on the Delete account page.
Private pools with friends
How do I create a pool? +
Tap Create, choose the competition and the game mode, adjust the rules, and done. You get a 6-character code to share with your friends.
How many people can join my pool? +
Free pools take up to 5 players. With PRO (one-time payment from $9.99) you can go up to 100.
Do my friends need the app? +
No — they can play in the browser. The invite link takes them straight into your pool either way; if they prefer the app, the link routes them through the store first.
Can I play with people in other countries? +
Yes. Everyone joins the same pool no matter where they are. Kickoff times and notifications show in each player's own time zone.
What happens if someone does not send their picks in time? +
Each match locks at kickoff. Any match without a pick simply scores zero for that player. Picks can never be edited after a match starts.
Can I approve or reject who joins? +
With PRO, yes. Turn on "requires approval" and every join request passes through you first.
Game modes
What is the difference between Simple, Advanced and Survivor? +
Simple: pick win/draw/lose (easy, popular). Advanced: call the exact score (harder, worth more points). Survivor: pick one team per round to win — if it loses, you are eliminated (pure suspense).
Can I change the game mode mid-season? +
No. The mode is fixed when the pool is created, to keep things fair for everyone in it.
What is a Mix pool? +
A pool that combines matches from several leagues (say, Premier League + La Liga + Champions League). Available on PRO pools.
Scoring and results
How are points calculated? +
We pull live official scores from the sports data provider API-Football. When a match ends, the app compares your pick with the real result and assigns points according to the game mode.
How do knockout matches with extra time or penalties score? +
By default the score at the end of extra time (120 minutes) counts. Penalties do NOT change the score: a 1-1 decided on penalties counts as a draw for your pick. Penalties only decide who advances — and if the organizer enabled the "pick who advances" bonus, calling it right earns extra points. The organizer can switch the rule to "90 minutes only" when creating or editing the pool.
What if a match is postponed? +
We wait for the new kickoff time. If it is cancelled outright, the match is removed from the pool and nobody scores points for it.
Can I dispute a result I think is wrong? +
Yes — write to hola@quinielero.mx with the pool and the match in question. We validate against the official league data.
Tokens and public pools
What are tokens? +
Quini's virtual currency. You use them to enter public pools, and you buy them in packs of 5, 15 or 50.
Can I convert tokens into money? +
No. Tokens are for use inside the app only. There are no withdrawals and no exchanges for real money.
Do public pools pay out real money? +
Some award token prizes (which you can use in more pools) and special events may carry symbolic prizes. Quini is not gambling: there are no cash deposits, no cash winnings, and no real-money stakes.
Privacy and security
Can others see my picks before kickoff? +
No. Picks stay private until each match starts — not even the organizer can see them. Once a match locks, everyone's picks for it are revealed.
Do you use my data for advertising? +
We do not sell your data. We use aggregated analytics to understand how the app is used, and nothing is shared with external advertisers.
Where is the privacy policy? +
At /privacy. Our principle: collect only the minimum the app needs to work.
Troubleshooting
The app crashes or will not let me in +
Make sure you have the latest version installed. If it keeps happening, email hola@quinielero.mx with your phone model and OS version.
Notifications are not arriving +
Check the phone's notification permissions for Quini. On Android, also check that battery optimization is not restricting the app.
I set up my pool wrong +
If the first matchday has not started yet, you can edit or delete the pool. Once it kicks off, the rules are locked.
